High Speed Assembly Machine Click here to see a Video Clip of this machine in action! It is a 5 meg clip, please allow it to load. You will also need the most recent version of Media Player to open it. We designed and built this machine from scratch and it was easily one of the most complicated projects we ever undertook. The parts needed to: 1) Parts were located by a vision system. 2) Transferred the parts via a Robotic pick and place unit to a "Puck" for transport. 3) Wire lead was cut to length from a spool. 4) Lead was ultrasonically welded to the resistor. 5) A pull test as performed to verify a successful weld. 6) Resistor was then pad printed. 7) Continuity check was performed to check part. 8) Good parts were palletized by a robot on an exit tray.
